Shari Vandermolen Trio

Shari Vandermolen is an award-winning performer and vocalist who has been entertaining audiences in and around the GHA for over 20 years.  She has played numerous venues and events including The Steel City Jazz Festival and Hamilton’s very own Festival of Friends. She’s also “sat in” with jazz legend Germaine Bazzle in New Orleans at the Irvin Mayfield Jazz playhouse.  As a seasoned musical theatre performer, some of her favourite theatrical experiences include playing “Mama Rose” in Gypsy, “Edie Beale” in Grey Gardens and “Norma Desmond” in Sunset Boulevard.  In 2015 she released her debut album Quarter to Nine which can be purchased here this evening or found on most streaming platforms including iTunes and Spotify and in early 2018, Shari founded Jazz in the Sanctuary, a monthly concert series showcasing Hamilton musicians.

David Brideau has played all around the GTA, Hamilton and Niagara regions with his own group the David Brideau Trio/Quartet.  He graduated with Honours in Applied Music at Mohawk College in 2013, an Honours Bachelor of Music at McMaster University in 2016 and a Bachelor of Education at York University in 2019.   He has played the Toronto Jazz Festival, the Niagara Twilight Jazz Series and the Brantford International Jazz Festival.  David often composes his own jazz standards and released the now sold out EP “Addicted To You” in 2016, as well as the conceptual epic “Winter Dream” in 2019.

Clark Johnston has been a professional bass player since 1995.  He holds a master’s degree in music composition from York University and is on faculty at McMaster.  Clark has performed with the Shuffle Demons, Mike Murley, Reg Schwager, Don Thompson, the Mike Malone Jazz Orchestra, Peter Appleyard, Queen Pepper, Danny B, Attila Fias, and works regularly with James Brown and Neil Brathwaite.

Music at Nelles Manor

On select dates over the summer, discover our Region’s best-kept secret and national treasure – Nelles Manor Museum. Join our volunteers for a new and exciting fundraising event to celebrate summer’s arrival. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets for 2 hours of restful and refreshing entertainment on the Manor lawn. A different genre will be featured at each performance including fiddling, jazz, contemporary and Celtic. Mark your calendars for June 23, Old Tyme Fiddlers; July 7, Michelle Hedley; August 5, Shari Vandermolen Trio; August 18, Natalie Walker from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Pricing for Adults will be $10 per performance or $30 for the series of 4.  Student pricing is $5.00 per performance. Children are free. Light refreshments of lemonade and cookies are included in the price and extra servings will be available for a nominal fee. All proceeds are designated to go to the ongoing maintenance of the Manor.
